Need a sooner interview? Watch for cancellations.

About student and exchange waits

F/M/J applicants are usually scheduled ahead of B1/B2 — most posts run dedicated student-season blocks in May through August so admitted students can make orientation. Even so, posts with thin staffing or surging demand (Delhi, Lagos, Hyderabad) can sit at 60+ days year-round. Apply as soon as your I-20 or DS-2019 is in hand; you can interview up to 365 days before your program start, but the visa itself can't be issued earlier than 120 days out.
